Victim of a Casual Thing is the UKs number one independent record and number 19 in the official UK album charts.
“All with no label; no big management. This one is for the underdog. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you all. Let’s take this party on the road now, see yas on our debut album tour!! This is just the beginning. “

They’ve done it! Birmingham’s new indie-rock heroes The Clause have catapulted straight to #1 on the Official Independent Albums Chart with their debut album ‘Victim of a Casual Thing’. What’s more, they’ve also crashed in at #19 on the UK Official Albums Chart – a breakthrough that’s all the more remarkable given that they’ve achieved all of this entirely independently.
In a week that they have described as “the best of our lives,” The Clause had fulfilled a life-long ambition simply by releasing the album. What happened next was bigger than they had hoped – the album infiltrated the midweeks at #8 as they outsold Sabrina Carpenter and their record store tour has been greeted with sell-out crowds and big emotions. And now they’re at #1 on the Official Independent Albums Chart, look at the level of artists they stand alongside – recent weeks have seen the likes of Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C., Pulp, CMAT, Richard Ashcroft and Sam Ryder all top the chart.
