Sports team brought their high-energy, chaotic indie-rock to Metronome on 30-10-26

The band opened the floodgates with the punchy, rhythm-heavy track The Game, immediately igniting a swirling mosh pit right at the front. They wasted no time digging into the fan-favourites, transitioning seamlessly into the satirical suburban anthem Happy (God’s Own Country) and the driving rhythm of Palomino.
What makes Sports Team special isn’t just the visceral, high-velocity delivery—it’s the lyricism and sharp-eyed irony that sits right beneath the noise. They document the messy, mundane absurdity of modern Britain with an affectionate, slightly cynical smirk. When the band tore into fan favourites like Fishing and Margate, the crowd didn’t just sing along; they yelled every word back with a communal ferocity, turning tracks about middle-class careerism and seaside towns into massive, unifying anthems.
Marking the culmination of a storming tour, Sports Team proved once again why they have cemented a reputation as one of the most frantically electrifying live acts in the country.
