On Friday 13th March 2026, Snuts played The Victoria Hall, Stoke
After five years on the road, taking their anthems from small rooms to sold out arenas, Scottish guitar band The Snuts have come home. It’s been a long and varied journey since their 2021 debut: After establishing themselves with the number one album W.L., the band surprised fans with the politically charged, genre-hopping follow-up Burn the Empire in 2022. Their 2024 third album Millennials – released on the band’s own label, Happy Artist – was another twist on their signature sound; foregrounding breezy guitars and unabashedly pop song writing.
The Snuts are back. The latest single, Summer Rain was released as the first new music since 2024s Millennials. Written after a period spent reconnecting with their hometown roots in West Lothian, ‘Summer Rain’ is The Snuts’ most personal release to date. The single draws on an experience that affects many but is rarely addressed in music and offers a first glimpse of the band’s forthcoming fourth album, due later in 2026. Accompanying this is a tour with some surprising venues. We headed to The Victoria Hall on Friday 13th March. Singer Jack comments on this saying “ I think a lot of artists find themselves hitting the big cities, playing the easiest places to go to. But I think places like this and like where we are from are often ignored by bands so that’s why we are here”. The town of Stoke quite often misses out, having to travel to gigs, so it’s no surprise how busy it is tonight.

The setlist tonight is a delightful mix of well loved songs and new stuff getting it’s first listen. “It’s good to have quite a few songs to pick and choose from to play and we tried to pick songs that we thought you would like” Jack muses. “We are going to be playing a couple of new songs that no one in the world has heard, except people in Lincoln (the first night of the tour) And this next song ties into that. It’s about places like this and places like ours and finding little bits of beauty inside of them. This is called mother land” see our video here
Later, Jack jokes “Everyone can understand what I’m saying, can’t they? Show of hands that can’t understand what I’m saying? Get them out! No. I’m joking”. Cochrane seems happy & relaxed and looks glad to be back on stage. The band sound good and I mean really good. They aren’t theatrical or overly chatty, We only heard from Jack, but the music really does do the talking. I can only speak for tonight, but they are at the top of their game and I cant wait to hear the new album.
“Every time we write a song we think it’s the best song in the world, but this song especially, we thought it would make us so rich. Joe Callum and Jordan they were all on Lamborghini.com picking the colours. Then we put it out and people kinda liked it but not the way we thought they would but we don’t give a fuck and we are going to play it anyway. But I’m proud of this one. This one is called circles” see our video here and here
Jack looks delighted when he says “Here’s another new one. I used to hate going to a gig and they would play new stuff, but now we are the band we fucking love it” He makes a fair point. If there’s too much new material, it loses you. But tonight The Snuts have that mix just right.
And with the that, the show draws to a close and we are back out in the cool march air with massive smiles on our faces. Until next time
