On 25-11-25 Gary Numan performed at Rock City as part of the Telekon 45th anniversary tour. Yes you read that right. 45 years!
Tonight we see the influential electronic pioneer on top form to a sold out crowd. I was honestly concerned tonight wouldn’t happen after hearing the sad news that Gary had lost his dear brother, John just the week before.

Gary looks exactly how you want him to look. Dark. Dark make up, Dark Clothes. Dark. But when he smiles you see a wonderful kindness in his eyes. While I was taking photos, he spotted his wife sat quietly in the pit and came to the front of the stage and knelt down to kiss her head. Pure love.
Have a look at our video of him walking onto the stage here.
Before Like A B-film, Gary tells us that he doesn’t even remember writing it! But he’s listened to it a hundred times and it sounds like him! You can see our video of him talking about it here.
A little later, Gary, visibly moved, sits towards the back of the stage and covers his face with a towel. He’s clearly emotional. Perhaps a combination of the love the crowd are showing him and the recent loss of his brother. Chants of Numan and a round of applause show how much love there is for him. He spoke about the loss of his brother and received love and support from everyone in the room.

I loved that this evening was about TELEKON. 13 songs from the setlist were from the album. I was surprised that Cars wasn’t on the setlist, but not disappointed The evening itself was perfect as it was.
