If you have never heard of Elvana, its exactly what you think it is. Elvis Fronted Nirvana.
We have Smells Like Teen Spirit-esq cheerleaders all the way from Disgraceland. We have musicians in black & red and we have the main man, with 3 costume changes! Black jump suit Elvis. White jumpsuit with cape Elvis and finally red & black jail house rock Elvis.
At the start, it looked like it might not go ahead. A very concerned looking chap from the ambulance service came onto the stage to tell us that unfortunately Elvis would not be able to make it tonight, because there had been an incident involving a cheeseburger. But then the good news, that he was able to pull himself together and the show would go on. Huge cheers from the crowd as he then accompanied a very slow walking Elvis wearing a shawl and using a Zimmer frame onto the stage, where he fortunately made a fantastic recovery.. This delighted the sold out rock city crowd and it was straight into territorial pissings. It was an absolute joy to sing along to Nirvana and Elvis songs, some with a slight twist , but all absolute belters. You may think this is a silly joke band, well possibly. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t well performed and presented. Every performer on stage is exceptionally talented with off to the charts level of ego and charisma.
Elvis was keen to meet his adoring fans and came down to the pit several times, to hold hands, fist bump and give out red roses. He even got into the crowd and created a circle pit for smells like teen spirit. The encore included giant yellow balls, with the iconic Nirvana smiley face drawn on, being thrown into the crowd and passed through the air in a fun game. All too soon, it was the end of the night and the tired, sweaty and very smiley crowd left the building.
