On 2nd March 2026, Franz Ferdinand played a packed out Rock City, Nottingham.

Opening with The Dark of The Matinee we were off to an amazing start. Its one of my absolute favourites and it seemed to be the crowds too. The noise from behind me as I took photos was loud!!
Even if you aren’t a big Franz Ferdinand fan, I bet you know more songs than you think you do. They never fail to put on a great show.
The setlist tonight was filled with bangers and didn’t let up during the 90 minute set.
Singer Alex gave a shout out to Julian Corrie (keyboards & guitar) and explained that he was born at the City Hospital in Nottingham, just down the road from the venue. Something you might not expect from a Glasgow based band.
As always, its hard not to watch Kapranos. He is so stylish. Tonight he is in a sharp suit and dapper shoes, guitar swung casually as he jumps, not once, not twice, but many many times. He has an elegant swagger and owns the stage and the entire crowd are in the palm of his hand.
